• 8th grade teachers may recommend
students for the on-level or honors
course
• Biology is a graduation requirement
• 20% of the Biology grade is
determined by the End of Course
(EOC) test

AP/IB Biology
• Recommended students must meet the
following criteria:
– Proficient score on Life Science EOG Milestones assessment
– High grade in Advanced Physical Science (without test
retakes)
– Routinely superior classroom performance as compared to
classmates
– Strong study habits and above average maturity

On Level Biology
• For students that do not meet the
requirements for the honors course or
do not wish to take AP/IB Biology
• The on-level course:
– Prepares students for the End of Course
exam
– Allows students to pursue advanced
