How it works
The Excel document is useful to analyse the evolution of the stability meteorological over a period
defined by the user and to complete the base of average temperature and stability per month linked.

Log in your Linux Server Account
Open : DataAnalysis_scp.xlsm
1st Step: Complete Information

 Your user name on your Windows account
 Chose : Start and End date for your wish period
Click ‘Save this period’ to confirm your chose. An error message means a failed in the chronology

Date must be written like this: year-month-day

Click ‘Erase this period’ to start again
If you want to study the stability for 1 day, please write the desired day for
Start and the next
day for End.
NB: For a long period (more than 1 year) importing and treating data take at least 10 minutes

2nd Step: Generate command
Excel is able to create text files. It’s the efficient way to create commands.
First Step (a .txt file will open)
Second Step (result)
Click ‘First Step’ to generate the .txt – open it. It contains all the instruction and command to
create function to import data. Here is a preview of the .txt file generated.
 Getting data takes time for period as 1 year, lets it running.
After following steps, go to http://brunnur.vedur.is/pub/haraldur/?C=M;O=D and open the last
‘hendastabilityresults.xls’.
We must click on ‘Last modified’ to refresh the website and make sure to have your own result.

Click ‘Second Step’ to import data. It’s important to have the both Excel files open.
 If an error n°9 occurs, please rename the file and his sheet like this
‘hendastabilityresults.xls’. It’s important to delete file after work instead of having files
with same names in your Dowload Folder.
Data must be imported in the main sheet at this moment.
3rd Step: Transferring data to your base
Export to DataBase
This button extends the data base contained in the Excel file.
For each year, it calculates per month an average of temperature and stability per level of pressure.
Important: to extend the data base, the data imported must be for the all year.
4th Step: Erase table
Erase Table
Click ‘Erase Table’ after using the Excel document.
Complement
By working and testing the server database, we realized that large period of date are missing. That’s
why we incorporate this tool to indicate how much data is missing.

The acceptable threshold is 10%. We consider the data consistent under 5%.
