REGULATION - SCIENTIFIC WORK
This regulation the registration of scientific papers in the form of electronic panels and
free subjects for selection, approval and presentation during the XLVI Brazilian Congress
of Radiology - CBR 17, to be carried out by the Brazilian College of Radiology and
Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) From October 12 to 14, 2017, in Curitiba.
Deadline for abstract submission: closed on June 5, 2017
Publication of the result of the approved abstracts: after July 10, 2017
Submission of papers approved in full in presentation format (ppt): until August 14,
2017.
From the definitions
Free themes: oral presentations made on specific days and times, limited to 8 minutes,
followed by 2 minutes for discussion and questions, at the discretion of the session
coordinator. Free themes are preferably original works that show the authors or
institution's experience in subjects even though still with partial results. The presenter
must be registered in the Congress.
Electronic panels: presentations of scientific works through a series of digital screens
available only in the computers arranged in multimedia station set up in the event for
this purpose. Before entering a work, it is recommended to read carefully all the
information contained in this regulation. The works that do not conform to the
described specifications will be disqualified.
Of the types of works
Original Work: Demonstrates the research and results of topics that are unprecedented,
reflecting the experience of the authors or the institution. It should contain a very clear
casuistry and methodology, with the consequent results, even if partial.
Iconographic essay: it is based on a subject of great interest. The main objective is the
demonstration of images that should be very illustrative and according to the chosen
subject. The text should be very succinct, giving priority to the examples of images. It
does not need a bibliography, and may refer only to some recommended readings.
The illustrations and content must be the author and / or the Institution, not collected
in the literature or in the electronic media.
Case report: is the brief presentation of a single case. The case should be of interest to
the specialty and the didactic value should be discussed. The images should be very
illustrative.
Two deadlines
1. Registration of abstracts: until June 5, 2017, exclusively by this site.
2. Result of the selection: the publication of abstracts of the approved papers is
scheduled for July 10, 2017, the main author will receive an e-mail informing that the
work was approved.
3. Submission of the complete approved papers (final version to be presented during
the event): until August 14, 2017. Failure to submit by this date implies automatic
decommissioning.
4. The date and time of each free theme presentation will be announced until
September 6, 2017. The author who submitted the work will receive, in a timely manner,
the date, time and place for the presentation of the free themes by the e-mail that is
entered in the application . The approved free theme should be presented during the
congress by one of the authors of the work taking 8 (eight) minutes for this presentation.
Another two minutes can be used by the Moderator for questions and comments.
From the inscription
1. The summary record represents a definitive commitment of the author to send the
entire paper for presentation during the XLVI Brazilian Congress of Radiology - CBR 17,
if it is selected and approved by the Judging Commission.
2. To register a work as an electronic panel or free subject in the XLVI Brazilian Congress
of Radiology - CBR 17 it is necessary that at least one of the authors of the work is
enrolled as a participant of said congress.
3. The registration of the work must be done by sending the abstract exclusively on this
site.
4. Entries will not be accepted by fax, post office, electronic message (e-mail), by carrier
or in any other way than described in this regulation.
5. In order to register the work, the author previously registered in the XLVI Brazilian
Congress of Radiology - CBR 17 must access the registration system, through the login
and password provided on the occasion of his / her registration at the event.
6. Upon entering the system, the author must complete a standard submission form and
record the name of the lead author.
7. At the time of registration, one or more authors have, or have had, in the last 12
months, a relevant financial affiliation or relationship with commercial companies that
produce, market, resell or distribute goods or products of medical use or services
consumed Or used in patients. The intention is not to prevent the participation of these
authors, but the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) adopts
policies and procedures that aim to identify conflicts of interest. Therefore, the full text
of the work, that is, the version that will be presented at the XLVI Brazilian Congress of
Radiology - CBR 17, should not contain any commercial promotion and should maintain
the privacy of patient data. No name, hospital ID, or any other personal information may
appear in the presentation.
Of authorship
1. Each author may send as many abstracts as he wishes, signed independently or in
partnership with other authors. For free themes, each author can send up to two works.
2. Each work can be signed by up to 8 (eight) authors, one of which must be identified
as the main author.
3. During the completion of the standard form of submission of work, the data
concerning the authorship of the work should be inserted: full name of all authors
without abbreviations and their identification documents (CPF) and the name of the
institution where the work was developed. To ensure confidentiality during the
selection process, it is not allowed to include the name of authors and / or the institution
where the work was developed in the space destined to the abstract text. This
information should be included in the specific form already mentioned.
From
The electronic panel and free theme categories in CBR 16 are:
A) Ultrasonography in Gynecology and Obstetrics / Fetal Medicine
B) General Ultrasonography
C) Cardiovascular / Thorax
D) Mama
E) Internal / Genitourinary / Gastrointestinal Medicine
F) Musculoskeletal
G) Neuroradiology / Head and Neck
H) Bone Densitometry, Radiological Technique, Radiotherapy and Medical Physics
The works of areas not described above, such as Pediatrics, PET / CT, Intervention,
Vascular and Oncology, should be directed to the specialty or method of image that
most directly concerns the subject matter. Example: "Abdominal Lymphoma
Tomography" should be entered for Internal Medicine, "PET / CT in Bronchogenic
Carcinoma" should be directed to Thorax and "Brain Tumors in Child" should be directed
to Neuroradiology.
From the formatting and pattern of texts
1. The abstract should be between 1,000 (1,000) and 3,000 (three thousand) characters,
including spaces.
2. The title of the abstract and the names of the authors should be filled in the specific
field for this purpose. It is not allowed to include this information in the space for the
text of the abstract.
3. The electronic form has a character counter and does not allow the inclusion of
additional words when the limit is reached. Therefore, special attention is needed when
using the copy-paste feature, for example.
4. It is not allowed to include graphs, tables, images and / or bibliographies in the
abstract, as well as bold, italic, underlining or any other form of differentiation of parts
of the text. Greek letters and symbols representing "equal or greater" and "equal or
less" should always be expressed in full.
5. Bibliography or suggested reading should be included only in the final format of the
paper, ie in the version that will be presented in CBR17. It is not allowed to include this
information in the space for the text of the abstract.
6. You can not use paragraph indentation (Tab key) in the summary.
7. It is not allowed to start sentences with numerals in the abstract.
8. When using acronym or abbreviation in the abstract, write it in full the first time it is
cited in the text, followed by the corresponding abbreviation or abbreviation in
parentheses. In the following quotes, use only the acronym or abbreviation.
9. Identify if the work submitted will be classified as an electronic panel or as a free
theme. If you opt for a free theme, a member of the work must be present at the
Congress for the on-site presentation of the event. The Commission should inform the
date, time and place of the presentation if the free theme is approved. The authors are
aware that an electronic panel can be changed to a free theme or vice versa.
10. The abstracts should clearly have the following minimum information:
- Original work: Objectives. Minimum description of case series and methods. Results,
succinct comments and importance of the work done, being able to emphasize its main
conclusions.
- Iconographic essay: Interest of the work proposed in the abstract. Inform if the material
is of experience or own file of the authors. What is the educational and educational value
of the work.
- Case report: What is the interest of the case. If there is any particular highlight of this
presentation.
There should be no papers or reviews that use only figures and / or data from the
literature, without opposing the experience and the material of the authors.
Texts, graphics, drawings and other forms of illustration extracted from the literature
can only be used in an exceptional way, and expressly authorized by the owners of the
rights. The Scientific Committee and the Brazilian College of Radiology are not
responsible in any way for non-compliance with these regulations.
From Review Before Resume Submission
Before submitting a summary of your work, carefully read the entirety of these Rules
and check in particular the following items (checklist):
The lead author or oral presenter is registered in the Congress.
A) It was informed the main specialty of the work and corresponds to Electronic Panel
or Free Theme.
B) Was informed if it represents Original Work, Iconographic Essay or Case Report.
C) The abstract does not contain names of authors, of the Institution or of commercial
products.
D) The work contains material and / or data that is the experience of the authors and /
or the Institution.
E) I am aware that works obtained from compilation of the Internet or that represent
data of unauthorized authors will not be accepted.
F) After acceptance of work
1. After the work is approved by the Judging Committee, the full version, that is, the
version that will be presented in the event, should be sent in a Power Point (ppt) file
with up to 10 MB. The sending must be done by this site.
2. The presentation of the work in file Power Point (PPT) can not exceed the maximum
of 30 screens.
3. The first screen of the presentation should include: the title of the work, the full name
of all authors and the full name of the institution where the work was developed.
4. The title of the work should be identical to the title used for the abstract.
5. The content of the work must faithfully reflect the purpose indicated in the title of
the abstract sent.
6. It is recommended that the content of the work be arranged in such a way as to enable
the observer to complete its reading in up to 5 minutes.
7. The presentations of the works can be formed only by images, as long as the file is in
Power Point format (PPT) and obey the limit of up to 10 MB.
8. The Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) and its Scientific
Committee are not responsible for abstracts and / or papers sent in formats other than
those contained in this regulation. The CBR reserves the right to exclude works that do
not obey this regulation, especially items 4 and 5 even after acceptance of the abstract.
The order to be followed in the presentation of the work
Original work: Title, in capital letters; Introduction, with specification of the objectives;
Casuistry and Methods; Results; And Conclusions, referred to objectively.
Iconographic essay: Title in capital letters; Introduction, highlighting the importance and
interest of the proposed work; And Brief description of the material presented.
Case report: Title in capital letters; Introduction, emphasizing the importance and
interest of the case to be presented; Short description; And Summary discussion.
From the Presentation of Free Themes.
1. The presentation in the event must be done by an author registered in the Congress
and that appears in the selected work.
2. The Presenter of the Free Theme must identify himself before the Moderator, at least
ten minutes before the beginning of the Session.
3. The presentation time should be strictly restricted to 08 (eight minutes). The
Moderator can add questions and comments as well as open for questions from those
present.
4. The slides should be clear and illustrative on the subject addressed. The first slide
should contain the title of the paper, the full name of the authors and the institution.
Any conflicts of interest should always be informed.
5. As a suggestion the presentations can be quietly presented when they contain up to
two slides per minute and the texts no more than seven lines per slide in well readable
letters.
From the selection
1. The Judging Committee of the electronic panels and free themes of the XLVI Brazilian
Congress of Radiology - CBR 17 will evaluate the abstracts of the scientific papers
enrolled and will select only those that are in accordance with this regulation and that
have sufficient scientific order for presentation in said event.
2. The Judging Committee reserves the right to modify the category of selected works,
as well as, at its discretion, redirect them to other modalities or specialties, change
electronic panel for free theme and vice versa.
3. The Scientific Commission is sovereign to decide on matters not covered.
Authors responsibility
1. The expenses associated with the registration and presentation of the scientific works
for the electronic panels and free subjects of the XLIVI Brazilian Congress of Radiology CBR 17 are the responsibility of their respective authors.
2. Registered scientific work may not have been published and / or presented at other
national scientific events.
3. In case the work is selected and approved, its entire, that is, the final version intended
for presentation should reflect the contents indicated in the summary sent and
approved by the Scientific Committee. Significant divergences between the abstract
submitted and the presented work will jeopardize future registrations in events and
congresses of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR).
4. All authors, by registering their papers for presentation in the electronic panels and
free themes of the XLVI Brazilian Congress of Radiology - CBR 17, authorize the Scientific
Committee and all medical societies that support the event to publish the abstract and
/ or work by Indefinite time in the most varied communication vehicles (printed, digital
and / or web), provided that in an educational and scientific nature and for the purpose
of disseminating the event in a regional, national or international scope, without any
payment by copyright.
From the certificate
After the end of the Congress will be conferred online certificate of the work approved
to the author responsible for submitting the work on the site. To print or download, the
congressman must access the "Certificates" area, located on the congress homepage,
enter the registered e-mail and fill in the "Satisfaction Survey".
Important: certificates are not sent directly to the congressman's email.
• Only one certificate will be issued per work submitted. The job certificates will be
printed following the registered order of authors.
• At least one of the authors must be registered and attend the event to receive the
certificate later.
