Other tasks will be set and due for the next day or next lesson. Pupils must use their homework diaries to record the work, and to organise their time to ensure that they meet the deadlines. If no formal homework is set, or the teacher is absent, pupils are expected to use the time to read and consolidate notes from the lesson, revise or prepare for coursework etc. There should never be ‘none set’ in Year 9 as there is always something that pupils could be doing.
