Ask your previous financial institution to close your old account. Request
a check for the remaining balance.
Be prepared with the following information for each account signer:
•Social Security Number
•Date of Birth
•Driver’s License
•Address (Mailing & Physical)
•Contact Phone Number(s)
•Employer and Position
•Mother’s Maiden Name
Step 2: Move your transactions to your new account
•Move your Direct Deposit to SSB
•Switch your automatic withdrawals to SSB
•Switch charges automatically billed to your old debit card or account
number
•Let outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals clear your old account
Leave enough money in the old account to cover your
outstanding checks, auto withdrawals, and service fees.

Just make sure your transactions (direct deposits, automatic withdrawals,
and other outstanding charges) have cleared before closing.
Destroy your Checks and Check Cards from your previous financial
