“For me, patient education is the most important
aspect of a comprehensive eye exam. I am fortunate
to be able to practice with technologically advanced
equipment, but unless I can convey the results to my
patients in a way they can understand, then I have not
done my job. Many patients are not aware of all of the
systemic conditions that can be diagnosed simply by
getting their eyes checked. After examining a patient,
I feel confident that they will leave the office knowing
not only their current visual status, but also ways that
they can maintain good visual and overall health, and
prevent future problems. Most importantly, I know that
they will have been made aware of the need for annual
eye exams.”
