NOTES: CORD is reinventing the CO for a lot more than just efficiency and agility. Agility has
become a cliché. Every vendor either uses it or has used it. Efficiency is good but also trite and
only addresses one dimension of the CORD value proposition. Also this tag line is too technical .
See next page…
The goal with a tag line is to connote an ethereal and personal
response of “goodness” . It needs to be grand in scope.
Examples:
• Reinventing the Central Office
• Reinventing the Access Network
• Reinventing Access
• Changing the Economics of Access
• The Future of Access
• Inventing the Future of Access
• Defining the future of access
• The Future of the Central Office
•
• I like “Access” as it’s more all encompassing… “Access Network” is good
but a level below the open tag line IMHO.
• “CO” is limiting as the access network has two ends. The premise being
the other end.

Tomorrow
CORD™ (Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter) brings datacenter economics and cloud
flexibility to the telco Central Office and to the entire access network. Based on open source
SDN and NFV solutions, CORD redefines the economics of access. CORD brings unforeseen
efficiencies in delivering today’s services and provides a platform to deliver tomorrow’s
innovative services we can only begin to dream of. CORD is the Future of Access1 . Major service
providers like at&t, SK Telecom, Verizon, China Unicom and NTT Communications are already
starting their journey to the future.
