Sustainability Committees and Networks
There are committees, networks and annual programs to enable CSU Managers to engage their
staff into improving sustainability in the workplace. Some of these avenues are included below
and include links to the CSU Green website for further information.
Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Wagga Wagga have Campus Environmental
Committees (CEC). The intent of the CEC is to employ a collaborative approach to achieving
environmental sustainability involving University staff, students and neighbouring stakeholders.
The members are both academic and general staff.
CSU Managers within the Division of Information Technology can achieve change through
working with like-minded colleagues who are active members of the Division of Information
Technology Environmental Sustainability Working Party (#45408). CSU Managers can also
drive the formation of working groups within their School/Faculty/Division similar to those of
the once active Division of Library Services Sustainability Working Party and the School of
Education 'SoE Green'
Staff are able to join the Staff Sustainability Network (SSN). The SSN is a University based
network of staff members passionate about sustainability in their workplace who are willing to
share their ideas, liaise with colleagues about sustainability initiatives, disseminate CSU Green
information and drive small initiatives in their workplace.
The SSN is growing with more staff members joining the network. The network is designed to
create working groups on each campus, where through bi-annual catch-ups members can share
ideas, experiences and develop stronger networks across disciplines. It is through these activities
that the SSN promotes sustainability across campus and assists CSU to meet the Sustainability
Targets outlined in the University's Sustainability Enabling Plan.
