The Quat package is a Maple-Software package for calculations with
Quaternions. It was developed as a test environment for scientific and
research purposes at the Bauhaus-University Weimar. Hence the package
doesn’t enforce the claim to cover the whole scope of hypercomplex
computation. It is rather a software tool to support and simplify the work
with Quaternions and their applications.
The Quat package supports elements from quaternionic linear algebra as
well as functions and operators as they are described in the book. A large
section inside the Quat package is dealing with polynomial calculations
and their applications. Therefore the package bundles an internal
polynomial database, which can be used interactively during the Maple
session.
The Quat package includes next to several Maple functions a fully
integrated Maple help system, which is automatically available after the
package installation.
System requirements
To use the Quat package an installed Maple-Software system under a
Windows or Linux operating system is required.
The package source code is written in Maple 9. Read the install
instructions carefully in case that you possess another version.
