CIRCULAR
UGC is running a scheme entitled “Colleges with Potential of Excellence” to strengthen the
Under-graduate and Post-Graduate teaching programmes, to encourage excellence in research in
colleges and engage in outreach activities.
UGC has requested all Universities to invite proposals from affiliated colleges covered under u/s
2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act (except agriculture/medical/dental/nursing & pharmacy). The
guidelines for the same are available on the website of UGC www.ugc.ac.in,
http://www.ugc.ac.in/pdfnews/8626399_CPE-Guidelines.pdf and must be perused for details
before applying. Self- financing colleges can also apply but as per UGC norms will not be eligible
for grants under the scheme.
The last date of receiving proposals under this scheme at GTU is February 2, 2015. It is
reiterated that any proposal received after the last date will not be considered by the University’s
Scrutinizing Committee. The complete proposals (hard and soft copy), as per the standard UGC
format should reach on or before February 2, 2015 (before 06:00pm).
