Depth of Knowledge Activity:
CCSS Target B: Apply and extend previous understanding of operations with fractions to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide rational numbers.
To Our IMS 7th Grade Families:
Today your student completed a Math Depth of Knowledge Activity as part of our March 18th Rotational
Activity Day. This task was arranged by taking a few standards from the Number Sense CCSS strand, and
creating math problems that deepened the amount of cognitive demand with each new level of question.
If you would like to continue with the learning together, your student can find the answers to their
problems attached to the March 18th E-News or on the IMS website.
If you notice your child needs additional support on some of the problems, we’ve included resources for
your student to continue practicing at home. Khan Academy is a free, online resource. MathXL is a skill
building website that is a part of the Issaquah School District CMP3 Curriculum. If your student does not
know their username and password for MathXL, then they should check their math teacher’s website for
more information or ask their teacher for guidance at school next week. We are happy to help!
