Hydrolyzed Yeast: The source of free nucleotides that supports better productive indexes
in broiler breeders
ICC Brazil is a market leader in yeast-based products for animal nutrition. The range of
products is obtained from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast fermentation originating from ethanol
production in Brazil. After the fermentation process, each co-product pass through different
processing in order to release all its functional and nutritional characteristics as an additive.
Hilyses® is the most complete product from this process.
Yeast is a rich source of RNA and its cytoplasm contains amino acids, especially
glutamine, and proteins. However, in order to turn all these nutrients full available, Hilyses®
pass through RNA and polypeptides hydrolysis, by some specific enzymes that are added,
resulting into free nucleotides and nucleosides, highly digestible amino acids, peptides and
polypeptides of short chain length. Hilyses® also contains the yeast cell wall, composed by
mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) and high levels of 1,3 and 1,6-β-glucans (immunomodulator of
innate immune system).
The free nucleotides and nucleosides can be readily absorbed by the enterocytes in the
intestine, and are especially important in tissues of rapid cell proliferation and limited capacity
for de novo synthesis. Free nucleotides can be used by the salvage pathway, where the body can
synthesize nucleotides with less energy consumption, as result of recycling bases and
nucleotides from metabolic degradation of nucleic acids from dead cells or from the diet.
However, when the endogenous supply is insufficient, exogenous (dietary) nucleotide sources
can actually become semi-essential nutrients.
All Hilyses® components results in a synergistic effect improving gut integrity and health,
higher cell proliferation, and strengthening the immune system; which is important for animals
during rapid growth phases (early stages), reproduction, stress, and disease challenges.
The studies with Hilyses® supplementation in broiler breeder’s diets showed an
improvement in egg production, fertility and hatchability; also, it seems to have a carryover
effect over the progeny (best chick quality, higher birth weight and improves body weight gain
and feed conversion). These favorable results may be due to the higher amount of nucleotides
available to the breeders during egg formation and by transmission of nucleotides to the
progeny.
Unlock the potential of your flock with Hilyses®, a complete additive solution.
