Course Description: … creating and modifying database tables, defining table relationships, creating
queries, calculations, aggregate functions, filtering and linking data, and using form and report
wizards.
Required Materials:

Microsoft Access 2013 Level 1, Benchmark Series, Rutkosky, Roggenkamp, and Rutkosky,
Paradigm Publishing, ISBN 978-0-76385-393-8
1 USB drive (purchased separately) unless your instructor advises differently

Recommended Prerequisites: The Windows one-credit course or equivalent and keyboarding ability
are recommended.
Competencies: (Performance standards marked CRITICAL will be assigned higher point values
on the final exam.
Course Outcomes
Since this is a 1-credit course and usually meets for 30 hours, this class may require 2-3 hours per
classroom hour to complete which is standard for a college level course. So please allocate
sufficient time to complete all the requirements.
