BIORON‘s Expertise
Thermophilic DNA polymerases are based on cloned DNA polymerase genes from
thermotolerant bacteria mostly from genus Thermus spp. The Taq DNA Polymerase, the
workhorse in the molecular biology, is used for classical PCR application until today.
The development contined and for special applications DNA polymerases from different
species with hybride features made by directed mutatagenesis in catalytic centers or other
relevant domains led to DNA polymerases with significantly improved properties.
Since more than 13 years BIORON has been offering a wide range of classical and
modified DNA polymerases in the fields of Standard and HotStart PCR. This includes
polymerases for highfidelity application, Real-time and qPCR. Last but not least specific
DNA polymerases for special use complete the wide range of products.

BIORON is setting the standard
BIORONs’ novel patented SD polymerase, an universal thermostable DNA polymerase
for Whole Genome amplification, Rolling Circle Ampification, Strand Displacement
Amplification, Loop mediated Amplifiction and PCR applications such as real-time,
standard, multiplex and long PCR, is a new member of DNA polymerase with unique
combination of properties not found worldwide.

DFS-Taq DNA Polymerase

DFS-Taq DNA Polymerase is free from bacterial DNA-contamination. The enzyme is robust and can be
used for standard PCR application.
The enzyme is supplied with two reaction buffers (KCl– and NH4) and MgCl2 for optimisation.
Top-Taq DNA Polymerase
Ref No 111105
Top-Taq DNA Polymerase is a very robust DNA-free polymerase and can be used for regular PCR applications. The enzyme is a novel version of Taq Polymerase with more immunity robustness to potential
PCR inhibitors.
The enzyme is supplied with two reaction buffers (KCl– and NH4) and MgCl2 for optimisation.
HotStart DNA Polymerases
SuperHotTaq DNA Polymerase
Ref No 119002
SuperHotTaq DNA Polymerase is the optimised mixture of Taq DNA Polymerase and Anti-Taq monoclonal antibodies. Antibodies block polymerase activity during set-up of PCR reactions at ambient
temperature. The inhibition of Taq Polymerase ends when the temperature is above 70 °C.
The inactivation prevents formation of undesired by-products. The Hot Start Polymerase provides
improved sensitivity and specifity when prolonged room-temperature exposure during PCR set-up is
inevitable.
SuperHotTaq DNA Polymerase (5 U/µl) is further available in low (1 U/µl) and high concentration
(15 U/µl) or glycerol-free (25 U/µl).
The enzyme is supplied with two reaction buffers (KCl– and NH4) and MgCl2 for optimisation.
AptaHotTaq DNA Polymerase

AptaHotTaq DNA Polymerase is a HotStart Polymerase using DNA-Aptamers instead of antibodies for
blocking the activity at ambient temperature. At temperature above 50 °C aptamers dissociate and the
enzyme is activated. AptaHotTaq DNA Polymerase is available in 5 U/µl and 30 U/µl.
The enzyme is supplied with two reaction buffers (KCl– and NH4) and MgCl2 for optimisation.
Anti Taq, monoclonal antibody
Ref No 121001
Anti Taq monoclonal antibody is a very effective monoclonal antibody against Taq DNA Polymerase
derived from a hybridoma cell line. The antibody blocks the Taq DNA Polymerase at ambient temperature.
Anti Taq is used for HotStart PCR applications.

DNA Polymerases for special applications
SNPase
Ref No 108210
SNPase is a Taq DNA Polymerase with N-terminal deletion and proprietary amino acid substitutions
introduced into the active center of the enzyme. This modification causes a dramatic increase of
sensitivity of the enzyme to mismatches at 3’-end of the primer. Consequently, non-perfect annealing
of the primers does not result in unspecific amplicon formations. SNPase was recognized as one of the
best Polymerases in SNP detection by allele-specific PCR and micro sequencing.
DF-Pfu DNA polymerase
Ref No 108105
DF-Pfu DNA polymerase is a thermostable enzyme isolated from Pyrococcus furiosus. The enzyme replicates DNA at 75 °C and possesses 3’ to 5’ exonuclease (proofreading) activity. DF-Pfu DNA Polymerase
is recommended for use in PCR that require high fidelity synthesis.
The enzyme is supplied with appropriate buffers.
Sequencing Taq DNA Polymerase

Sequencing Taq DNA Polymerase is a modified form of Taq Polymerase. This enzyme has a modification
in dNTP binding site. Due to the modification enzyme incorporates dUTP and dideoxynucleotides more
efficiently if to compare with Taq DNA Polymerase. Enzyme may be used for cycle sequencing.
The enzyme is supplied with different buffers.
Tth Polymerase

Tth Polymerase is a thermostable enzyme with a reverse transcriptase (high RNA concentration
required) and a PCR amplification activity.

SD Polymerase
Ref No 108702
SD Polymerase is a novel thermostable enzyme with a strong strand displacement activity, which is
suitable for isothermal amplification, for LAMP and PCR amplification. SD Polymerase has 5’-3’ polymerase and 5’-3’ strand displacement activities. This combination of thermostability with strong strand
displacement activity makes the enzyme unique.
PCR: SD polymerase is suitable for amplification of short (from 100 bp) and long (up to 20 – 30 kb) DNA
fragments from simple (plasmids) and complex (genomic DNA) templates without special optimisation.
PCDR: In a special PCR application, called PCDR, polymerase chain displacement reaction, SD polymerase demonstrates higher yields, speed and efficiency compared with Taq polymerase.

For the SD polymerase we created a starter kit containing primer, DNA and buffers, to allow for comparing PCR with the novel PCDR (Polymerase Chain Displacement Reaction).

Master Mixes
PCR Master Mixes (2x) contain DNA polymerases, salts, magnesium, dNTPs, water and
optimized reaction buffer. Only template and primers have to be added. Master Mixes
save time, reduce the risk of contaminations and simplify the entire PCR workflow.
BIORON offers different types of pre-mixed solution for 200 or 1000 reactions (25 µl/assay).

quality.
Quality control
BIORON offers a set of different dNTPs as
liquid or powder. Each particular dNTP is
tested for purity by HPLC (>98%), UV and
NMR spectroscopy and absence of nucleases including RNAses.
PCR performance
PCR performance of deoxynucleotides are
tested with Taq DNA Polymerase and Pfu
DNA Polymerase.
