The Commercial Sector
• Part of country’s economy that includes all
businesses except those involved in
manufacturing and transport. It “produced”
products (services) that can make money
• It is An energy-consuming sector that consists
of service-providing facilities and equipment of:
businesses; local governments; and other
private and public organizations.

Commercial Sector – Energy & Environment
• Common uses of energy for space heating,
water heating, air conditioning, lighting,
refrigeration, cooking, and running a wide variety
of other equipment. In addition to generators
that produce electricity and/or useful thermal
output primarily to support the activities of
commercial establishments.
• Sector includes institutional living quarters, and
may include also wastewater/sewage treatment
facilities, as well as solid waste management
facilities.

RECP Approach
• A continuous application of preventive
environmental strategies to processes,
products and services to increase efficiency
and reduce risks to human and to
environment.
• This includes supporting enterprises
producing goods and services with minimal
environmental and social impacts, and
preventing or reducing waste generations and
lower service cost.
