FOCUS ON GEOLOGY
James is a Senior Geologist, with 15 years experience in the mineral exploration industry. He is experienced in project
generation, exploration project management, technical due diligence, GIS, data management and structural geology.
Expertise includes proficiency and implementation of GIS and database systems, structural geology, regional to
prospect/deposit scale mapping, integration of geological and geophysical data into 2D and 3D geological models.
EXPERIENCE
James commenced his career with SRK Consulting in Perth, WA, specializing in the structural geology of ore systems,
regional to prospect (open pit) scale mapping, aeromagnetic interpretation and 3D modelling of mineralised systems.
He then worked as a contract geologist at Wirralie Gold Mine (QLD) and Cadia Hill (NSW). Working for the Northern
Territory Geological Survey he undertook regional scale studies of geology/geophysics and mineralisation in the Pine
Creek Orogen, and produced a major report describing the geology of uranium deposits in the NT. At St Ives Gold
Mine (WA) he developed exploration targets through regional scale 3D modelling, and was the site structural-technical
specialist. With BHP Billiton Iron Ore he was responsible for feasibility RC and core drilling at Area C (WA).
For 5 years James worked overseas in senior geology roles. In Mongolia he was a senior project geologist managing
greenfields metals exploration for a variety of deposit types and supervision/training of local staff. In Oman he was
Principal Geologist responsible for project generation, database management, QA/QC, technical training and
supervision of the exploration team. James commenced with Mining Associates in 2011 and has since worked on a
wide range of projects.
