Linking to Documents and Folders in Dropbox for your Word Evidence Report
Here is an effective, easy way to share artifacts with your administrator.
1.
Use your mouse to highlight the key term(s) in your evidence report for which you have an
artifact.
2. Go to the document (OR FOLDER) you want to share in Dropbox and scroll over the share link
chain icon on the right hand side of the row of your file or folder.
3. Click on the link and the following box will appear:
4. Click on the Get Link box. The link will automatically be copied onto your clipboard. No right
clicking and copying or Ctrl C required! A little box under the web address will say – Link copied
to Clipboard.
5. When you go back to your report, go to Insert and click on Hyperlink. Paste the web address
into the box as shown below:
6. Click OK and save. Your artifact is now a private web link that can be seen by anyone who clicks
on the link in your Evidence Report. If you eventually turn your evidence report into a PDF
document, it is very easy to click the link and have the document come up. If the report remains
in Word form, the administrator must hit Ctrl and click at the same time to bring the document
up. There is no need to share any files or folders ( Dropbox to Dropbox) to make this work. The
viewer of your document does not even need Dropbox to view the artifacts in your Word
document. Cool, huh?
