A polygon is a closed plane figure whose sides are segments
that intersect only at their endpoints. In a regular polygon,
all the sides have the same length and all the angles have
the same measure.

A polygon is convex if a segment joining any two
interior points lies completely within the polygon. A
polygon that is not convex is called concave.

The name n-gon refers to a polygon that has n sides.
For example, a 15-gon is a polygon that has 15 sides.

A diagonal of a polygon is a segment that joins two
vertices that are not adjacent. You can use a diagonal
of a quadrilateral to show that the sum of the angle
