2017 MBA Scholarship for a Mexican student
at University of Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thailand
Since 2011, the Royal Thai Embassy has been implementing the Thai Studies Program in
Mexico, with an aim to promote the knowledge and the understanding of Thailand among
Mexicans through educational exchanges in various fields of study.
This year, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with the University of the Thai
Chamber of Commerce, will offer an MBA scholarship to a Mexican citizen. The scholar
will be enrolled in the two-year Master of Business Administration (Global MBA)
Program, at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thailand (UTCC). The
program is fully taught in English. Please visit the website of the UTCC for further

1. Objective:
1.1 To promote academic mobility between Mexico and Thailand
1.2 To increase knowledge and understanding of Thailand and the ASEAN among
Mexicans
1.3 To encourage and facilitate networking between Thai and Mexican business
communities, aimed at increasing trade and investment between the two
countries.
2.Eligibility:
2.1 Completed undergraduate degree with G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
2.2 Minimum TOEFL score of 550
2.3 At least one year of work experience
3. Scholarship Coverage
3.1 The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce will waive the tuition fees
for the scholar.
3.2 The scholar will receive financial support as follows:
- a lump sum round-trip travel expense of 1,240 USD. Other travel expenses
shall be borne by the scholar.
- a monthly stipend of 7,969 baht (approximately 240 USD) from June 2017 –
May 2019 (24 months) to cover accommodation, meals and/or other personal expenses.
The University of Thai Chamber of Commerce will assist the scholar in finding adequate
accommodation within this budget.
3.3 Other costs which may occur during the Program, including but not limited to
exam fees, books, field work and visa fees shall be the responsibility of the scholar.
4. Duration: Two years. The scholar shall arrive in Thailand in June 2017 for a pre-study
course. The academic year is from August to May. The scholar is expected to graduate in
May 2019.
5. Application and Selection Process
5.1 Application and supplementary documents are to be sent to the Royal Thai
Embassy at [email protected] by 1 March 2017. The application form
appears at the end of this announcement. Supplementary documents are to include:
- Curriculum Vitae (in English)
- Statement of Purpose (in English)
- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
- Recommendation letter from the last employer (please provide English
translation if original is in Spanish)
- TOEFL score
- Official Proof of Mexican Citizenship (passport or IFE/INE card)
5.2 Upon review of the submitted documents, shortlisted candidates will be
notified in mid-March and interviewed by the Embassy’s Selection Committee in late
March 2017 (exact dates to be announced).
