Written by William Shakespeare
Directed by Payden Ackerman
“The course of true love never did run smooth…” One of
Shakespeare's most popular works and widely produced
around the world, Midsummer has delighted audiences for
generations. Four young lovers run away to a moonlit
forest, a troop of inept actors rehearse a play, and a fairy
King and Queen feud as their merry band of sprites play
tricks on these mortals. This classic Elizabethan comedy
is transported to the woods of California in the late 1960’s,
set amid the backdrop of Vietnam, the hippie movement
and music of Woodstock.
Book and Lyrics by Brian Crawley
