On the Oct. 23 broadcast of CBS THIS MORNING, CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent and FACE
THE NATION anchor Bob Schieffer discussed moderating the final presidential debate in a live interview
with co-hosts Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell. Said Schieffer: "I thought it came off pretty well. My
objective going into this was to come away feeling that people got a better understanding of who these people were and what they're all about. And I kind of felt like that may have happened last night. ... I thought they
handled themselves with great dignity this time around." Continued Schieffer, "This was spirited. The elbows
were sharp. But I thought this was worthy of a debate about the presidency. "
