Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Summer Theatre Camp is open to ALL students in our community grades *3-10! SleepingBeautyKidsAUDITIONPLACEMENT WORKSHOP Saturday, May 13, 9am – Noon Required Parent Meeting follows at Noon When Aurora falls into Maleficent's grasp, it is up to Prince Phillip and the Good Fairies to save her from an evil spell. Who Should Attend? ! All students interested in being in the cast of Sleeping Beauty Kids. Join the CAST of Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty Kids” Learn the music, lines and choreography for the musical and perform it Friday, June 16th at 7pm and Saturday, June 17th at 10:30am. No previous experience is needed. You will learn skills in acting, singing, and choreography the week of camp. Each camper will be given a cast listening CD and script on Saturday, May 13th at our Audition Placement Workshop. You will be sent the cast list the following week with instructions. Each cast member is responsible for learning all their character’s music and lines before the first day of camp. If you register after the workshop, we will assign you a roll based on your previous experience. Who Will Be There? ! The Director of the show, The Music Director, The Choreographers, High School Interns helping with the show, and other cast members. We ask that parents drop students off in the school auditorium between 8:45 and 9am the day of the workshop. Parents are to join us at noon for the parent meeting. What Will I Learn? ! Everything about the show. You will also receive your libretto and listening CD. ! You will learn a Vocal and Choreographed segment from the musical ! You will hear the Director’s vision for the week of theatre camp and for the show *If your child is going into the 2nd grade but has had previous dance or theatre experience, we will consider them for camp. Please contact the Director, Gale Post, at 918-852-2040. Will I Need to Audition? ! Yes, however, everyone that enrolls in Sleeping Beauty Kids WILL be cast in a role appropriate for their abilities. How do I prepare for the audition? When do I audition? ! You can’t prepare for it! We will teach you everything you need to know: how to sing, how to dance, how to perform! If you already have experience, we will challenge you with higher level skills in the above areas. We understand that our students will be at all different levels of experience and ages and we audition with this in mind. Our audition is conducted in a non-competitive environment where every child will be successful. ! ! ! ! ! It is a PLACEMENT audition only. Everyone that enrolls WILL BE CAST. ! You can NOT fail the audition. This workshop is to help us place you in a role. We will give you ample opportunities to shine. We provide a safe and fun environment for learning and for making mistakes☺ How will I know what role I get? ! You will be emailed your character and a cast list the following week.
