CONCEPT
CELLULAR PROTECTION
Over time, our bodies can become less effective at protecting our cells from oxidative damages and our cells begin
to accumulate cellular waste and by-products. Everyone is concerned about environmental contaminants, but it is
also important to target the build-up and damage from internal metabolism (breathing, converting food to energy,
etc.). Enzymes are needed to handle cellular wastes. Glutathione peroxidase is one of these enzymes critical for the
detoxification process of cellular waste and by-products. Glutathione production depends on the availability of
several amino acids and selenium. When glutathione production is low, detoxification in the liver is affected.
