• Sphere of Influence: The sea and the rivers
• Attributes: god of the sea, rivers, horses,
storms, and earthquakes; carried a trident
that could create earthquakes and havoc
obtained from the war with the Titans
• Birthplace: Was swallowed by Kronos after
birth
• Place favored: The sea
Pre 475 A.D.
• I chose this picture to represent
Poseidon because it just looked
great. He is riding his horse
chariot in the sea and is looking
over it for anyone that is
disrespecting him. The picture
show him carrying his trident, a
weapon he got from the war he
fought with his brothers against
the Titans. Poseidon is a god not
to be messed with when in the
sea or near because he can use
the sea to engulf any ship or
costal town. In conclusion,
Poseidon is and always will be,
the god of the sea.
Roman mosaic C3rd A.D.,
Modern
• I chose this picture because it
shows that he is the god of
the sea. Anyone that doesn’t
respect him and his domain,
would’ve felt his wrath. As
shown by the picture,
Poseidon is a strong god, able
to create tsunamis to could
destroy anything in its path,
but chooses to use it only
against his enemies. In this
picture, it seems that he is
helping protect a city from
attack by a foreign invader.
Poseidon is really the god of
the sea.
Provenance is unknown
