To our visitors: In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we welcome you to
our church with God’s richest blessings. We hope that you will not feel like a
stranger here. Please sign our guest register in the narthex before you leave
today. If you have recently moved into the area or have no church affiliation,
we invite you to make St. Paul’s your new church home. If you are interested
in church membership, please call Pastor Burns at 763-234-1828 (Cell) or
[email protected].
The Holy Communion: The Lord’s Supper, which we celebrate, reflects
our unity of faith and doctrine. Therefore, we assume that all those attending
Holy Communion with us are members of a congregation of the Lutheran
Church - Missouri Synod. In love and concern, we ask that all others speak
with the pastor before communing.
The Mission and Ministry Statement for St. Paul’s: We, the
members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in gratitude to The Triune God for His
love for us in Jesus Christ, dedicate ourselves as individuals and as a
congregation to learning, teaching and sharing God’s Word, caring for others,
and living in God’s grace through Word and Sacrament.
Attendance/Communion Sheets - Please take a moment to fill in the
attendance sheet, listing each family member separately. When communing,
that is receiving the Body and Blood, please indicate this also. Children that
are receiving the blessing should not be marked as such or as communing.
Visitors please complete the form in its entirety.
Children and the Divine Service – Thank you so much for bringing
your children with you to church. The Scriptures tenderly tell of Jesus’ love
for little children. Jesus wants your children in His Company, to hear His
Word and receive His gifts given to all in the Divine Liturgy. Please don’t feel
uncomfortable if your child needs some special attention. Sitting for a long
time can be difficult for a child and we understand. If you feel your child
would benefit by leaving the worship service for a short period of time, you are
welcome to use our nursery in the lower level by way of the Narthex stairway.
There is a speaker in the nursery so you may continue to hear and participate in
the worship service. We kindly ask that toys, etc, be picked up before leaving.
If you need any assistance, please let us know how we can help .

“Eighth Sunday after Pentecost”
Sunday, July 10th, 2016
Eighth Sunday after Pentecost: July 10th (Proper 10)
Luke 10:25 "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" There
is nothing right about this question. What shall I do to inherit?
What can you do to inherit the throne of England? You can’t do
anything to gain those things: an inheritance comes by family ties,
not deeds. Our deeds follow and result from our family ties: the
Father calls us His own children. So we inherit eternal life by
grace, and seek to live out our new calling as the Father's children
with our good works.
Jesus Is Our Good Samaritan
The Law commands that “you shall love the Lord your God” with
all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27), and that you
shall “love your neighbor as yourself” (Lev. 19:18). Love fulfills
the Law because love does no harm to the neighbor. Christ Jesus is
the Good Samaritan, who with divine compassion saves you from
all evil. He takes your sin and death upon Himself and bears these
in His body to the cross. He binds up your wounds with the healing
balm of His Gospel, and He brings you into His Church, where He
takes care of you at His own expense (Luke 10:34–35). By such
mercy, He proves “to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the
robbers” (Luke 10:36). Therefore, “you go, and do likewise”
(Luke 10:37). By “your faith in Christ Jesus” and “because of the
hope laid up for you in heaven”(Col. 1:4–5), you have the same
love for others as the Lord Jesus has for you.
