Purpose
Create political and physical maps of East Asia and South Asia.
Assignment prompt
In this assignment, you will conduct research, then use what you have learned to create political and
physical maps of East Asia and South Asia that show the regions’ countries and major cities, landforms,
and bodies of water.
Assignment instructions
Step 1: Gather materials and necessary information.
a) Ask your teacher whether you will be using presentation, drawing, or artistic software to
develop the maps, or if you will be downloading, printing, and completing your maps before
scanning them into the computer.
b) Use your textbook or the Internet to identify research sites for completing your maps.
Step 2: Read and follow each set of instructions carefully.
a) Follow all instructions for labeling your maps.
b) Color the maps as instructed. If you are making electronic maps, use drawing software; if
you have downloaded and printed your maps, use colored pencils.
Step 3: Evaluate your work using this checklist. When you can answer “yes” to all of the
questions, you are ready to submit your maps.
