Employment and Work Experience
Have 25 years working experience as a Meteorologist (Climate Scientist), Zambia Meteorological
Department, a government technical Department in charge of weather and climate monitoring and
reporting in Zambia.
Current post: Chief Meteorologist, Forecasting and Research Division whose responsibilities
include:
 Technical control of weather forecast staff in the Department
 The development of suitable short-, medium- and long-range weather forecasting techniques
 The co-ordination of Departmental policy formulation and strategic planning processes and
their interpretation for relevancy to weather forecasting and research
 The direction of research and its applications to socio-economic sectors of the country
 The co-ordination of research studies both in the Department and with the World
Meteorological Organisation (WMO)
 Advisor to the Director on all issues related to WMO Technical Commissions on
Aeronautical Meteorology, Basic Systems and Atmospheric Sciences
 Departmental focal point on any liaison aspects on research related to meteorology with
Universities and other higher research institutions
 The co-ordination of International & Public Relations
 The co-ordination of Departmental Projects
