IBPS SYLLABUS
NOTE – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is going to conduct IBPS PO , Clerk ,
Regional Rural Bank exam and Specialist Officer exam for a large number of posts but this time IBPS
changed it’s exam pattern for Probationary Officer (PO) and Clerk posts. IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk
exam will consist of two levels – (a) TIER I (Preliminary) and (b) TIER II (Mains).
IBPS PO and CLERK CWE is an objective type online paper which covers 5 subjects – Reasoning ,
English Language , Quantitative Aptitude Test , General Awareness Test & Computer
Knowledge.
IBPS PO CWE SYLLABUS
1. Reasoning – It consists of Verbal & Non Verbal questions. Verbal reasoning includes Blood
Relation / Sitting Arrangement / Coding Decoding / Making Series and Syllogism. Non verbal covers
Making Series / Analogy and Classification.

2. English language – This subject is meant to test your basic knowledge of the language. It consists
of –
General English: Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Word formation and Sentence completion
Comprehension: Theme detection, Deriving conclusions, Passage completion, Error detection and
Passage correction, Sentence correction
Spelling: Grammar, Idioms and Phrases
3. Quantitative Aptitude – Quantitative aptitude consists of the following topics

4. General Awareness – It covers Current Affairs (Latest News) from Indian Economy, International

current affairs of last 6 months,countries / currencies, Books & their Authors, Banking Terms, RBI,
Fiscal Monetary Policies etc.
5. Computer – It covers basic computer terminology, software & hardware questions, computer
abbreviations, Microsoft-office, basic knowledge of Internet use etc.
IBPS CLERK CWE SYLLABUS
1. Reasoning – This section deals with logical reasoning questions which involve forming judgments
and conclusions from premises or facts. It consists of two parts – VERBAL REASONING and NONVERBAL REASONING
Verbal Reasoning Topics – Analogy, Odd Man out, Syllogism, word formation, Statement and
conclusions, Statement and assumptions, Statement and arguments, Passage and conclusions, Coding
decoding, Blood relations, Alphabet test, Series test, Number, ranking and time sequence , Direction
sense test, Sitting arrangement, Decision making, Input output, Assertion and reasoning, Figure Series
etc.
Non Verbal Reasoning :- Series test, Analogy, Odd figures, Miscellaneous test.
2. English Language – This section covers :

formation.

3. Quantitative Aptitude – This test is designed to measure how fast and accurate you are in dealing
with numbers, viz. computation, quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables and graphs. The topics
are same as IBPS PO and IBPS CLERK mentioned above.
4. General Awareness – This test is designed to measure your awareness of past and present events,
socio-economic developments as well as developments in the Banking Industry etc. Topics are same
as IBPS PO and IBPS CLERK mentioned above.
