Welcome to this episode – La pronunciación 3.
This episode will help you to pronounce some key letters in Spanish and make the
links between the sound and the spelling. On a computer or whiteboard you will be
able to see the word as well as listen. If not you can always print off a script from
the .pdf file.
Presentation of key sounds and words
The letter ‘j’ is also pronounced like the ‘ch’ in the Scottish ‘loch’.
A letter ‘z’ is pronounced as if it was the ‘th’ in ‘thin’.
Here are some words which contain the letters ‘j’ and ‘z’.

Presentation of key sounds and words
There are two letter ‘n’s in the Spanish alphabet. One is exactly the same as in
English, the other is written with a little squiggle on top of it (a tilde). This ‘n’ is
pronounced like the ‘ni’ part of the word ‘onion’.
Here are some words which contain the letter ‘ñ’ with a tilde.
