Read the following information about the Earth. Label the diagram using the words in the
box. Cut out and paste the completed diagram in your workbook.
The Earth has four main layers. These are; The crust, the mantle, the outer core and the inner core.
The crust is the layer we live on and is made up of the lightest material. The mantle is made up of molten
rock. The outer core is made up of very hot molten iron and nickel. The inner core is made up of solid
iron and nickel. It is solid because of the extreme pressure at the centre of the Earth.
