Research Opportunities in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Mount
Sinai School of Medicine
The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery has 3 funded positions for research fellows.
These positions are suitable for residents interested in a career in cardiothoracic surgery
holding the MD degree or its equivalent, and are normally one to two years in duration.
Additionally there are opportunities for medical student research projects, funded through
the Doris Duke Program which allows one year of full-time clinical research between the
third and fourth year of medical school, and shorter Summer Research Projects funded by
The School.
