 Originally isolationism
 Lend-Lease Policy – U.S. starts lending war
materials to Allies in exchange for land in the
Caribbean.

Asia
 December 7, 1941 – Japan attacked the
United States at Pearl Harbor without
warning. (A date which will live in infamy!)
 The U.S. declared war on Japan

Point in Europe). (Feb. 1943)
12. American and Allied troops landed in Normandy, France (DDAY!) (June 1944)
13. Germany surrenders (May 8, 1945) V-E Day
14. The United States dropped atomic bombs on Japan (Hiroshima
and then on Nagasaki three days later). (Aug. 1945)
15. Japan surrenders in Aug 15, 1945. V-J Day
