Special Angle Pairs
Complementary Angles: (comp. 's) Two angles whose measures have the sum 90. Each angle is called a complement of the other.
Supplementary Angles: (supp. 's) Two angles whose measure have the sum 180. Each angle is called a supplement of the other.
Linear Pair: A pair of adjacent angles whose non common sides are opposite rays. The pair of angles for a straight line. Therefore, it is postulated that angles that are a linear pair are supplementary.
Vertical Angles: (vert. 's) Two angles such that the sides of one angle are opposite rays to the sides of the other angle. When two lines intersect, they form two pairs of opposite angles. Vertical angles are congruent.

The measure of an angle is 78 less than the measure of its complement. What is the measure of the angle?
The measure of an angle is 12 less than twice the measure of its supplement. what is the measure of the angle?
The sum of the measures of a complement and a supplement of an angle is 200. What is the measure of the angle?
The supplement of a angle is 18 less than 3 times its complement. Find the measures of the angle, its supplement and its complement.
