WingSpan calculates scores for each part of the appraisal and a weighted overall score based on
all four parts.

How does appraisal scoring work?
Each rating you select equates to a specific point value:
•
Consistently Exceeds Expectations = 5 points
•
Often Exceeds Expectations = 4 points
•
Meets Expectations = 3 points
•
Needs Improvement = 2 points
•
Unsatisfactory = 1 point
WingSpan calculates an average score for each part of the appraisal, weights each as noted on
the form, and then calculates an overall score using the weighted section scores.
