*North America’s largest political region
*Second largest country in the world

*Part of North America

*In the tropics; tropics – near the equator and warm climate all year long
Caribbean
*Many Caribbean islands are part of other countries
*Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States; commonwealth- a territory
of the United Sates but it governs itself
*People who are citizens of Puerto Rico are also citizens of the United States
*People who live on US Virgin Islands are citizens of the United States as well

Greenland

*Greenland is a territory of Denmark, a country in Europe
*most people living in Greenland are native people called Inuit
