Objective: Continue solving systems of equations using
the substitution method.
Solve the following system of equations using
substitution:
x=3+y
2y = 4x + 2
Substitution Day 2
Let's review from yesterday:
STEPS:
1) Get one equation into y = or x = form.
2) Substitute into the second equation and
solve for the variable.
3) Plug in the # found into the easier equation
and solve for the 2nd variable.
4) Check in both originals.

Examples!
Solve the following systems of equations using
substitution:
1) 4x + 6y = 4
x  2y = 6
2) 2x + y = 7
y + 3x = 6

Solve the following systems of equations using
substitution:
3) 7x = y + 10
y  5x = 12
4) 6x + 4y = 13
xy=3
Substitution Day 2 .notebook
5) 8x + 2y = 8
2x + 2y = 28
