Cardiovascular System
The cardiovascular systems function is to pump blood and deliver it to
the rest of the body. The cardiovascular system is most closely related
to the circulatory system. The blood that the cardiovascular system
pumps is transported throughout the body by the blood vessels, which
are part of the circulatory system.
The cardiovascular system is made up by:
~Heart

Circulatory System
The circulatory system is responsible for transporting blood, nutrients,
and gases through the body. The circulatory system also helps rid the
body of waste. Another way that the circulatory system is beneficial is
that it transports red blood cells through the body using the blood
stream. Well, what makes up the circulatory system....

Circulatory System
In summary the circulatory system is like UPS. It
moves things all over the country. Except in this
case it transports/moves stuff such as oxygen, blood, waste,
nutrients, and gases all over the body.
For Example: The circulatory system
will move blood cells as well as
oxygen throughout the body using
the bloodstream.
As you can see the circulatory
system goes through all the vital
organs in the body.

Respiratory System
The respiratory system is responsible for bringing in oxygen and
ridding our bodies of carbon dioxide, which is know as breathing. The
respiratory system also provides oxygen for our bodies and cells. The
respiratory system and the circulatory system work very well together.
As the respiratory system provides oxygen for the body, while the
circulatory transports the oxygen to cells. The two systems also work
together to remove carbon dioxide as well.
The respiratory system is made up by:
~Lungs
~Diaphragm
~Windpipe
~Nose
~Mouth

Unlike some of the other body systems the respiratory system
can actually get stronger. The more you exercise and play the
stronger you're lungs will get.

Day 2
Body Systems Cont...
Today we will continue learning about the
different body systems and check our research
and fill in any gaps we have in our notes of the
body systems.
So, let's start with a quick review.
*What is the function of the circulatory system?
*What is the function of the cardiovascular
system?
*What is the function of the nervous system?

Skeletal System
The skeletal system is responsible for protection, shape, and support.
For example the skeletal system protects all some of your most vital
organs, such as the brain, lungs, and heart. The skeletal system creates
red blood cells which the circulatory system transports. The skeletal
system helps the body move. Muscles are connected to bones. Since they
are connected your bones provides support to the muscles which in the
end helps your body move. This is a prime example of how the skeletal
system and muscular system work together.
The skeletal system is made up by:
~Bones
~Cartilage

Muscular System
The muscular systems is responsible for making the body move. The
muscular system works very closely with the other systems. The
muscular system relies on the digestive for energy. It relies on the
respiratory to help provide it with the oxygen the muscles need. The
cardiovascular and circulatory system pump and transport the blood to
the muscles which they also need. The nervous system also works with
the muscular system by sending it signals from the brain telling the
muscles what to do. Even though the muscular system plays an
important role without the other systems it would be no where near as
effective.
The muscular system is made up by:
~Muscles
Just like the respiratory system the
muscular system can also grow and
get stronger. As you get older and
stay active your muscles will also grow.

Digestive System
The digestive systems function is to break down food into nutrients.
The digestive system also helps move the nutrients into the blood
stream. The nutrients that are made by the digestive system become
energy that the body needs to function. There are two systems that the
digestive system works with the most. One is the muscular system and
the other is the circulatory system. The digestive system works with the
muscular system by creating the energy that the muscles needs to move.
The circulatory system works with the digestive system by transporting
the nutrients created by the digestive system to the rest of the body.
The digestive system is made up by:
~Mouth
~Teeth
~Stomach
~Esophagus
~Intestines

Nervous System, just an FYI...
The nervous systems function is to send signals from and to the brain
to the rest of the body through nerves. The brain is the most important
part of the nervous system because it tells the body what to do. When
you think of the nervous system think about your brain.
