OBJECTIVE
Every year, WWFOR brings grassroots folks together grassroots folks for a Spring Assembly to share
ideas and strengthen the movements for social justice, nonviolence, and peace. This year’s Assembly
will continue on last year’s format of emphasizing interactive participation.
CONFERENCE THEME & ACTIVITIES
Have you been feeling shocked, angry, fearful, hopeless, traumatized in the past few months? For most of us, no matter
what our political orientation or worldview, recent events, and our ability to maintain a strong sense of hope and
persistence for at least the near future for our country, and perhaps in the world, has been seriously challenged. Our
response has also taxed our ability to maintain the necessary emotional and physical stamina to work together
collectively for social justice and peace. Today’s workshops and other activities, have been planned to address these
needs and concerns, and we hope you will experience the day as quite stimulating, valuable, and inspiring.
The Western Washington FOR’s 19th. Annual Spring Assembly on April 22 leads off with small group participation
where people will share stories about this year’s theme: “Beyond Our Outrage To Outreach.” You may choose one of
two theme-related workshops in the morning and one of two different ones in the afternoon. We’ll be joined during
lunch by some members of the Seattle Labor Chorus who will provide a brief performance.
Please bring issue-based information, handouts, petitions, etc. to display and distribute on our Information
Tables, as well as announcements to post on our Announcement Wall.
