Dr. Goyal is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate. She
received her medical degree from University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ),
her residency training in ophthalmology at SUNY
Downstate, and then completed a cornea and
refractive surgery fellowship at Belmont Eye
Center/NYU Langone Medical Center. She is
responsible for resident education and clinical
research in her specialty. Dr. Goyal performs
cataract, micro-invasive glaucoma, corneal transplantation, ocular surface, and laser refractive
surgeries (including LASIK/PRK & femtosecond
cataract surgery).
Dr. Lazzaro serves as Professor and Chairman of
the Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY
Downstate Medical Center. He received his
medical degree and residency training in ophthalmology at Downstate and then completed a
cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the
Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and
Cornell Medical Center. He is responsible for
oversight of all aspects of the Department of
Ophthalmology, including faculty practice, resident education and research. Dr. Lazzaro performs
corneal transplantation and other complex
corneal surgeries in addition to laser refractive
surgery (LASIK and PRK).

Dr. Fecarotta is an Assistant Professor with the
Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate. He received his medical degree from SUNY
Upstate Medical University, his residency training
in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Institute/Thomas
Jefferson University, and completed a fellowship
in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at
Indiana University. He joined our practice from
the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for
Children in Wilmington. He is responsible for
resident education and clinical research in his
specialty. Dr. Fecarotta performs strabismus,
pediatric cataract and pediatric glaucoma
surgeries, and manages retinopathy of prematurity and amblyopia.
