Manganese is a transition metal.
The state at room temperature
and pressure is solid.
Its atomic number (or number of
protons) and number of neutrons
are 25 and 30 respectively. Its
relative atomic mass is 54.94.
It is in the period 4. It is in
silver-gray colour. It is hard
and very brittle. It is difficult
to melt, but easy to oxidize.
It is used in iron and steel
production.
It is the key component of
certain aluminum alloys and
low-cost stainless steel.
We produce a variety of
important alloy by using
manganese,
for
example,
producing soft drinks cans.
Manganese is disturbed in bones,
liver, kidney, the pancreas in
human bodies. It contains
enzymes
to
metabolize
carbohydrates, cholesterol, and
amino acids.
