1. The perimeter of a triangle is 40 inches. The second side is one more than twice the first side. The third side is 2 inches less than the second side. Find
the length of each side.
2. The length of a rectangle is five cm more than the width. If the length is increased
by four and the width is diminished by 6, the new perimeter is 54 cm. What our the dimensions and the perimeter of the original rectangle?
3. The base angles if an isosceles triangle are six more than three times the vertex angle. Find all three angles.
4. One angle is twelve more than three times its supplement. Find both angles.
5. The larger of two numbers is 8 more than twice the smaller. If twelve is subtracted
from three times the larger number the result is 20 more than four times the smaller.
Find both numbers.
6. Jumping Jack Flash's taxi service charges a flat fee of $6 and 80 cents per mile. Johnny B Goode's taxi service charges a flat fee of $10 and 60 cents a mile.
