Glenn Burhans Discusses Historic Florida Supreme Court Congressional Map Decision on CBS

Litigation Shareholder Glenn Burhans appeared on the North Florida political talk show The
Usual Suspects last weekend to discuss the recent Florida Supreme Court decision invalidating
Florida’s congressional map.
The historic 5-2 decision orders a new map to be produced within 100 days, ruling the
Legislature unconstitutionally favored the Republican Party and incumbent House members in
redrawing the map and violating the Fair Districts Amendment passed by voters in 2010. The
decision tasks the Legislature with redrawing 8 of the state’s 27 districts in time for the 2016
election.
“This is a monumental decision that will impact the composition of our congressional
delegation and make for a frenetic and entertaining election cycle,” said Burhans. “The reality
is, upwards of 20 or more districts will likely be impacted.”
