6.5: Trapezoids and Kites
Trapezoid Definitions:
Bases: the two parallel sides
Legs: the two non-parallel sides
Base Angles: either pair of consecutive angles whose common side is a base
Midsegment: the segment that connects the midpoints of the legs
Isosceles Trapezoids:

Each pair of base angles are congruent

Diagonals are congruent
All Trapezoids:

The midsegment is parallel to each base

The midsegment is ½ the sum of the bases
Kites:

Diagonals are perpendicular

Exactly one pair of opposite angles are congruent
