Music is effective and successful with loops recorded cleanly and arranging evident across
several loops created. Music intention stated with highly effective structure overall.
Melodic development with textural contrast evident – creative use of layering of parts to
demonstrate each loop.
Loops play evenly, tracks effectively balanced. Addition of other processes evident to deliver a
polished project throughout.
1.Highly effective explanation of nominated processes with reference to software and hardware
used and variations in the application of the nominated process and supporting processes.
2. Musical elements and audio techniques discussed with clear intent and accuracy.
3. Identified and discussed manipulation of processes using appropriate terminology with
correct and varied application.

Explanation
A
Music is effective and successful with clear evidence of nominated process - compression being
applied to the drum parts. Highly effective musical ideas presented that worked against the
percussive sounds demonstrating compression amongst cleverly placed bass and percussion

rhythms throughout.
Creative and effective music ideas presented showing expressive and very capable use of the
nominated process.
The combination of loops and how they were presented showed a high level of mastery with
regard to the technical requirements for this project overall.
1. The level of understanding demonstrated in the explanation of the technical and musical
creation processes was extensive and highly effective.
2. Consistent and clearly effective use of appropriate musical and technical terminology
presented.

Highly effective theoretical melodic and rhythmic development enabling opportunities to
showcase the nominated processes.
Very creative and effective use of rhythmic textures to isolate panning and reverbs. Thoughtful
use of reverbs and panning placement to accentuate melodic features and rhythmic variations.
The piece demonstrates panning and reverb and a number of other processes in many ways but
does not sound like a theoretical exercise. Pleasing and successful use of a range of processes.
1. Highly effective explanation of nominated processes with reference to software use.
2. Highly effective explanation of musical and technological intent with specific reference to the
nominated processes and their manipulation within the minor project.
3. Musical and technical terminology used appropriately and effectively to support
understanding of the overall recording processes used.
