Additive inverse
Definition: A number that is the same
distance from 0 on the number line, but in
the opposite direction.
Model:
+3 is the additive inverse, or opposite, of -3
-3 is the additive inverse, or opposite, of +3

Associative Property
Definition: This property states that you can add or
multiply regardless of how the numbers are
grouped. In other words, if you are adding or
multiplying it does not matter where you put the
parenthesis.
Model:
(2 x 3) x 4 = 2 x (3 x 4)

Commutative Property
Definition: The Commutative property states that
order does not matter. Multiplication and addition
are commutative.

Denominator
Definition: The bottom number in a
fraction. Shows how many equal
parts the item is divided into.

Distributive Property
Definition: The Distributive Property says that
multiplying a number by a group of numbers added
together is the same as doing each multiplication
separately.

Definition: Having the same value.
