As a result, ions, free OH● radicals and sometimes H atoms are generated. In addition, in the liquid phase reaction zone, several liquid H2O molecules are broken into H2, H2O2, and O2. Research Interest: Supercritical Hydrogen production Fluid Liquid Solid Critical Point Gas Triple Point Electrolysis in subcritical water Conversion of organic contaminants into value-added chemicals Wastewater treatment Effective utilization of biomass by using hot-compressed water (sub-critical water) is complex, involving an uncountable number of organic compounds. Our research is mainly focused on production of value-added chemicals from cellulose as a model compound of biomass in hot-compressed water without using any organic, toxic solvents. For hydrothermal electrolysis experiments, degradation of cellulose was investigated by applying constant direct current through the electrodes in a specially designed batch reactor.
