FORCE

 Force = a push or pull
 Gravity is a force that attracts all objects toward each
other(law of universal gravitation)
 The strength of the force of gravity between two
objects depends on:
 The masses of the objects
 The distance between the objects
MASS AND WEIGHT

 Mass = the amount of matter in an object
 Weight = the force of gravity on an object
 An object’s weight can change based on the amount of
gravity where it is located
DISTANCE

 The force of gravity decreases rapidly as the distance
between two objects increases.
INERTIA

 The tendency of an object to resist a change in
motion
 An object at rest will stay at rest and an object in
motion will stay in motion unless acted on by a force.
