• This painting consists of a man and a woman and the man is holding a
hayfork. Their facial expressions are very settle and they don’t look happy.
You can see a house in the distance behind them and a couple of trees and
plants.
Analysis
• In this painting I can see that the people, the man and the woman are the
focal point. They are not very organic forms and the painting is balanced.
Interpretation
• There is some symbolism in this painting. There is a dark mood in the
painting as you can see the couple have no emotion. They seem to be
farmers and this painting was done in 1930.
Judgment
• I think this painting has a lot of meaning behind it that no one will really
ever understand. I have a different opinion than others and I personally love
this painting because of the man and woman's time period and their
emotion.
