Addiction

Addiction means that a person’s body has
become dependent on a substance and the
body cannot work comfortably without that
substance.

If the person stops using the substance, there
will be physical and mental effects which are
often unpleasant. This is called withdrawal
and will affect the person’s mind, body and
emotions.
