The rise of civilizations in Egypt and Mesopotamia occurred
about the same time and both civilizations grew along mighty
rivers. There were many similarities but many differences as well.
In each case, it was the river valley and geography that dictated
outcomes affecting agricultural prosperity, religious formation, and
government structures.
Egypt and Mesopotamia were two of the greatest
civilizations in human history. They both made huge cultural and
scientific advances that will forever impact our way of life.
Though different in many regards, Ancient Egypt and
Mesopotamia maintained several key similarities. Understanding
how these two civilizations compared highlights the origins of our
most basic social, political and cultural systems.
Mesopotamia and Egypt were two civilizations that while
similar in some ways, also had many differences. Not only did they
differ in the geographical layout of the civilization, but also in
many aspects of basic life. Although different in many aspects of
life, there are also several similarities between the two
civilizations.
All great civilizations that thrive with success and power
usually differ in many ways but are also alike in many ways as
well. Such as Egypt and Mesopotamia, much alike but different
were very successful at their peaks. Sharing similar geographic
locations, similar culture aspects, but differing in religion and
social standards.
